About me

I am currently employed as an assistant professor at the Erasmus School of Economics. Before that, I did my Ph.D. in Utrecht at the department of economic geography. At the moment, I am also a member of the Erasmus Studio. In my research, I try to understand why individuals, firms, regions or countries end up producing the products and services they produce. An important notion in this research is that, in order to produce something, the individuals, firms, regions and countries all need specific capabilities. Some products require similar capabilities and are therefore related. This relatedness turns out to structure the way in which the industrial portfolios of companies and regions develop.
